There has been a lot of great stuff going on lately in my world of music! On the songwriting front it’s been a kick to hear our song ALIBI on the radio in Vancouver performed by Ginette Genereux. Producing Ginette along with my partner Dan has been a wonderful experience. Great vocalist, the best musicians/ singers/ engineers and most importantly HIT SONGS! It was also an exciting and revealing experience to utilize the talents of French and Spanish adaptors who took our English lyrics and strived to make them “come alive” in their language.

Writing songs and plugging them around the globe continues to be a focus in my musical life. My new songs are created in many different styles from country to hip-hop and we submit the songs for a wide variety of projects. I had the opportunity in Dec. 2005 to write songs with 2 excellent writers from Sweden who were in Vancouver on a songwriting trip. Both song demos are being produced in Sweden and the results sound very encouraging. A recent collaboration with Vancouver songwriter John Dexter has resulted in a recording of our pop/rock song, THIS TIME by Swiss artist Nita. Her CD (which was recorded in Switzerland) is currently released in Europe and in Japan.

Of all the things I get to do in the music business I think the most enjoyable experience is playing live for people. Music is a gift and when your song can touch someone’s heart and move them it is indeed a humbling experience. I’ve had some great gigs this summer including playing the Main stage at the Merritt Mountain Musicfest with my friend Kenny Hess and also performing solo in the town of Merritt on their community stage.. I’ve done concerts on Vancouver Island, at the Unity church in Mount Vernon Washington and on the waterfront in my home town of White Rock. Coming up in September 2006 will be some special “unplugged “ shows with Ginette and I’ve been invited to host and perform at the Bluebird North show in Vancouver at the beautiful Roundhouse theatre September 19th.

Upcoming song cuts
Like I Would For You has been cut by Vancouver’s Karen Lee Batten and the song also appears in the Canadian feature film Deluxe Combo Platter as well as the current Dawson’s Creek DVD release.

The Way I Feel Right Now is on Craig Moritz CD and Kenny Hess has recorded our co-write, That’s All.

Alibi written by Ron Irving & J. Dexter has just been released as the first single for pop/r&b artist, Ginette Genereux, in both English and French. Alibi has also been released in 12 countries on compilations with sales just over 100,000 units and The Promise by D-Cru is out on compilations in Germany, S.E. Asia, Spain and Japan.
